But if you take a look into the Crystal Suites at the Dorchester Hotel you will see it’s actually a centrepiece chandelier. Above the sweeping staircase is a stunning crystal chandelier which had proved a very tricky installation.

Not only is the piece fragile and expensive, it also weighs as much as three big men. Getting the piece raised was a challenge but the ceiling also needed to be reinforced to take the concentrated weight of the new feature. The installation was managed very well in the end and the hotel got its new giant permanent resident.
