What do you get if you cross Isambard Kingdom Brunel with two office buildings?

Answer

You get the site and design inspiration for the ‘golden age of steam’ themed Malmaison Reading.

The two office buildings were actually the site of the UK’s first railway hotel built in 1840 and were substantially refurbished to create the railway inspired new hotel.

Each suite is named after a famous steam locomotive, the bar is a reminiscence of a first class train carriage and images of the golden age of rail travel line the hotel walls.

The 75-room hotel also includes a gym, café, restaurant, lounge, wine bar and conference suites.
