When the national smoking ban came into force during the 28 week refurbishment of the fashionable Hotel du Vin in Cheltenham the future of the hotel’s signature cigar room looked bleak.

Working with the client Vivid Interiors installed a unique outdoor cigar shack – which resembles a Native American teepee - complete with feature lighting, under-floor heating system and security.

The ‘cigar-shack’ is very popular with the hotel’s guests and bar visitors who can indulge themselves without huddling on the pavement in the cold.

The project which completed in early autumn 2007 included the creation of 49 bedrooms and a health spa together with the Hotel du Vin’s trademark Bistro and ‘Grapes and Grain’ bar.
