Hotel and leisure fit out specialist Vivid Interiors has successfully completed the refurbishment of the Queen’s Theatre in London. The project included the refurbishment of the bars, toilets, seating, new disabled access and seating, mechanical alterations, new lighting, decorations and flooring throughout.
The client’s objective was that “The show must go on” and the work was carefully planned so that performances could continue without disruption to staff or the public. This included a number of weekends where works were carried out continuously between midnight on Saturday and midday on Monday. As a result, not one performance was compromised during the six month construction period and Vivid was subsequently instructed by Delfont Mackintosh Theatres to carry out an additional two months’ work.
This has proved a ground breaking project, enabling the Theatre to keep revenue flowing whilst carrying out major works and looks to be a blue print for future projects.
