Project description

An old FM department was converted into the Café Tierra for use by students and visitors.  The cafe provides seating for 239, a variety of food sections and a Costa Coffee, and includes a full commercial kitchen with cold room, walk-in freezer, dry store and dishwash room, plus staff changing area and offices. New serveries and catering display equipment were supplied and installed, plus bespoke joinery, feature flooring and new M&E and piped services.  This highly challenging project was developed from conceptual designs to installation within 11 weeks and involved detail drawings, production and complex manufacture.  The intricate circular floor layouts meant the already restricted working space became even smaller.  The works were completed in time for staff training and cooking trials.
